The Phantom of Manhattan

Mon Apr 28, 2008, 10:37 PM
ok, so i finally read Frederick Forsyth's "The Phantom of Manhattan" and before you die hard fans start booing me, hear me out. And also remember, *I AM A PHAN TOO!" This book was solely written as a continuation of Mr. Webber's splendid Phantom of the Opera. and i feel that if his [Webber's] talents at stage have not dimished over the years, then this has a really great potential to it. Now, i do believe that if something is good and unbroken you should not try to fix it, and i am also a firm believer that sequels have the horrid problem of being terrible. But, we all know that this is happening so, lets hope for the best ok? I am not saying this will be a crowning acheivement and better than the first at all. I am saying this could be quite good, and we[phans] could finally see Erik as a slightly happy human being. Basically this is a published fan fic, which quite honestly, we all have either thought about or written. Now as the for the aspect of the book being a book, no, it wasn't the best written piece of lit i have ever read, but it wasn't hte worst either. At least the plot did flow. However, i feel there could have been more character development, but, i have this feeling that things were written as they were so that Mr. Webber could have a little more artistic freedom with them.
Now, if anyone wants to fight with me and tell me i'm a horrible phan for saying this new musical might be good, so be it. just tell me to my face, but realize i can delete your comments. Also remember, we are ALL entitled to opinions, so on my page we are going to respect that fact, ok?

Today young men on acid realize that all matter is energy condenced to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there's no such thing as death, life is but a dream, and we are the imaginations of ourselves.
